Jackson Bond I have been a Homebuilder and General Contractor for more than 20 years.  Since 1996 I have been a speaker, author and consultant to Homebuilders, General Contractors and Specialty Trade Contractors throughout the country.  Of course the only thing that's important is that I know what I'm talking about and I can keep a room full of people entertained while delivering the information.  I believe my reputation and speaking experience speak for themselves.  For those of you who want to read about where I went to school, where I got my first contractors license, when I moved to Florida, what I've done in my local HBA, what awards I've received, etc., my Bio is available for your review at the bottom of this page.

SEMINAR RESUME

In the past several years I have given seminars at a number of industry trade shows including repeat appearances at the International Builders Show, The SouthEastern Builders Conference, the Custom Builder Symposium and the Southern Builders Show.  These seminars are in addition to numerous seminars of my own throughout the country.

ATTENDEE EVALUATIONS

The far right columns of numbers are the official results from the attendees evaluations.  The evaluations ratings follow the standard four point system utilized by many trade shows where 4 is Excellent, 3 is Good and so on.  The typical response rate is approximately 30%-50%, and thus the number of responses is not indicative of the actual number of attendees at the seminar.

As you can observe, I consistently receive extremely high evaluations from all my seminars, which I why I am asked to return to the major trade shows each year that I apply.

Jackson Bond has been in the construction business for over twenty years, beginning in his high school summers working as a laborer for Pulte Homes.  During the mid-70's, while attending the University of Virginia, he worked summers on framing crews building houses in the booming Washington D.C. suburbs.  After graduating, he started a carpentry company that soon earned a reputation for being able to frame and trim large, complex mansions in the Potomac River Valley.

In 1982, Jackson obtained a contractor's licenses in Virginia and Maryland and entered the residential construction business.  He spent several years building projects throughout the Washington D.C. area, and eventually developed an expertise for renovating historical houses in Georgetown and Alexandria, Virginia.

In 1989, Jackson moved to the Orlando area and set up shop.  Initially unable to break into the local designer's bidding circles, he began offering design-build services, which proved to be very popular with customers.  He also joined the HBA of Mid-Florida and was instrumental in the development of the Remodelor's Showcase, which is a part of the Spring Parade of Homes.  Bond Construction Group, Inc. grew to an annual volume in 1994 of over one million dollars.

In 1994 he was elected to the HBA of Mid-Florida Board of Directors.  He has served several years on the Board of Directors of the Florida Home Builders Association and the NAHB.

In 1996, Jackson accepted an invitation to join 2nd generation Orlando Builder Mike Palombi of TEC Homes as staff estimator.  This position has allowed him the flexibility to increase his seminar schedule and expand his consulting practice advising other builders on setting up their estimating and bookkeeping systems.

In 1996, Jackson received the coveted FHBA Florida Remodelor of the Year award at that association's Annual Fall Conference in Naples, Florida.

Throughout the years, Jackson's projects have received a number of awards, including several merit awards and a 1st Place Award in the Mid-Florida HBA's Parade of Homes "Remodelors Showcase".  In April of 1997, he received a Grand Award for a project he designed.

In the past three years, Jackson has conducted a number of seminars around the country, including GBI courses on Estimating, Sales and Marketing for Remodelors, and Design/Build.  He has written several articles for HBA and FHBA publications, and is the author of a book on unit cost estimating that includes a job cost code system specifically designed to meet the needs of both estimating and job cost accounting.

In his capacity as a consultant to the homebuilding industry, Jackson has had the opportunity to travel around the country and discuss the home building industry with a number of builders.  In addition, his practice of spending an entire day training his builder clients has allowed him the unique perspective of viewing a number of homebuilders and remodelors business operations from the inside.  One of his most popular speeches, titled "The 12 Habits of Highly Successful Builders", is a compilation of his observations of what works and what doesn't work, as well as a number of great ideas on selling projects, estimating, doing paperwork, and streamlining your office operations.

Jackson has been a favorite speaker at the SouthEastern Builders Conference for the 5th year in a row.  His seminars on Estimating, QuickBooks Pro and Design/Build have been consistently rated among the best by the show's attendees.  He has also presented seminars at the Custom Builders Symposium, the NAHB International Builders Show, the Southern Builders Show and the Remodelors Show.  Jackson was recently the subject of an interview in Professional Remodelor magazine on his unique cost code system that effectively links estimating and bookkeeping to develop historical construction cost data.
