Do I need a Florida Contractors License to attend?


No. The seminars are open to all interested persons. You DO NOT need a contractor's license to attend. In fact, the QuickBooks Seminar historically attracts a number of attendees who are there for the education and not because they need CEU credits.

Do I need an advance reservation to attend?


No, but we try to do everything we can to encourage you to make a reservation so we can better plan the seminar. Nevertheless, we are always please to accommodate you on the day of the seminar.

Why are advance reservations so important?


We try to encourage you to register in advance so we can plan for the correct number of participants. There are the usual issues of printing the correct number of seminar handouts, but our planning includes more than that. For example, I typically get 40-50 people at a seminar, but if it appears that the number is going to be higher, I'll call the hotel and get a larger room for everyone's comfort, regardless of whether or not I could squeeze the extra people into the smaller room. Giving people space at a seminar makes them more comfortable. I'll also rent another computer projector and set up a second screen to facilitate everyone's ability to see the presentation easily.

Of course, I always get a few extra people on the day of the seminar, and I do plan for the extra "walk-in" participants, but the fact is that I would rather have you register in advance if at all possible.

When is the latest time I can make an advance reservation?

You can make a reservation through this website up to 12:00 midnight the day before the seminar. You can phone or fax in a reservation up to noon the day before the seminar. If you want to mail your reservation, please do so in time for me to get the letter at least two days before the seminar.

I won't know for sure if I can attend until the day before the seminar Can I make a reservation now and then decide later?

Yes. Make a reservation now, and if you determine later that you cannot attend, just send me an email to cancel the reservation within 24 hours of the seminar. We will refund your seminar fee in the same manner that you paid it (check, credit card, etc.)

I made a reservation, but I found out at the last minute that I can't attend. Can I send someone else in my place?

Yes. The exact name of the person attending is not critical, just the number of persons. Just have them advise us at checkin so we can correct our roster.

PLEASE NOTE: Completion certificates are issued in the name of the person who actually attended the seminar, not the person who made the reservation or the person who was originally scheduled to attend. In other words, if you are a licensed contractor and you need a CILB completion certificate, you cannot send someone in your place, you must attend personally.

I want to make a reservation the day before the seminar, and I want to pay by check not by credit card. What can I do?

Make your reservation by the website, fax or phone, then bring your check with you on the day of the seminar.

What if I have to cancel my reservation?

You may cancel your reservation for any reason up to 24 hours before the day of the seminar for a full refund. To cancel your reservation, send an email, fax or leave a voice mail message on my service. Your refund will be made in the same manner in which you originally paid for the reservation (check, credit card, etc.)

Do you send printed reservation confirmations?

No. We do not send individual confirmations because they're not necessary.
If you registered by email, you may print the email confirmation screen as a confirmation.
If you faxed your reservation, we will fax it back to you with a "reservation confirmed" stamp.
If you telephoned your reservation, the conversation confirms your reservation.
If you mailed your reservation, keep a copy of the completed reservation form.
Essentially, this has never been an issue.

How do I get into the seminar without a printed confirmation?

Easy. We will have a list at the seminar of everyone who has made a reservation. As you check in, we check your name off the list. If you're attending in someone's place, just let us know.

If we can't make it to your upcoming seminar, will you be back in our area to do another seminar?

Yes, but probably not until next year. I generally plan to do my seminars in every major Florida city at least once per year. Check the website for future schedules.

Are you going to try to sell us anything during the presentation?

No. The presentation is 100% informational and focused entirely on the subjects described. I will have a table in the back of the room with my books available for sale, but the subject will not come up during the presentation.

Why don't you accept American Express?

American Express costs approximately twice as much as Visa or MC to accept, and the way they process the transactions is completely different, which causes a real headache. Sorry. The good news is that I'll show you at the seminar exactly how to reimburse yourself for a business expense charged on your personal credit card.
